Spa Concierge Team

Hannah Levy
“Every once in awhile, a girl has to indulge herself.” -Sarah Jessica Parker

I recently moved from San Francisco to San Diego to pursue my bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University. My passion for the spa and wellness industry came from when I worked as an operations manager at a manufacturer of bath and body products. Creating products such as lotion, shower gel, scrubs, massage oil, this job essentially fostered my knowledge and love of bath, body and spa. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of spa services and products with guests. I also enjoy interacting with guests as they indulge in relaxation and wellness at the spa.

I believe that just as a hair cut is maintenance for your hair, massage is essential maintenance for your body and facials are vital maintenance for your skin. I enjoy being part of the indulgent aspect of the health and wellness industry. I also believe in spontaneity. Try that body treatment you have always wondered about on the menu of services and extend your usual massage for extra indulgence!

Jessica Schenck
“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.” -Buddha

My name is Jessica Schenck and I am originally from Northern California. I say northern California and not a specific city because I have lived from Santa Cruz to Tahoe and a few places in between.

I am currently a concierge at Spa Velia; a really great and inspiring place to work. I really enjoy being there and am so glad to be able to experience such a great work environment filled with so many wonderful and interesting people. I will be continuing school in the spring and although I love the Spa nursing is my real passion.

I really love the outdoors, camping, hiking, wakeboarding, snowboarding and the beach. I really enjoy reading, mostly memoirs at the moment. I am an aspiring chef. I love to combine ingredients in new ways to create amazing flavors! I try to look on the bright side of things no matter how trying they are. I feel it is important to be as positive as possible. I have found that this really affects other people and my own outlook on things. Life is short be happy and laugh, laugh as much as you can!

Staci Jenkins
“If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.” -Eleanor Roosevelt

I am originally from the South, but graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Political Science. I am currently studying to get into a MBA program and learning how to speak Arabic. I danced for fourteen years and took many classes in college and used it as an welcome escape from the day, mentally and physically. Recognizing the importance of time to yourself daily is what intrigued me about the spa industry.

I got into the spa industry because I enjoy meeting people from all facets of life. It is great to develop relationships in a warm, relaxing environment such as Spa Velia. It is rewarding to be in an industry where you are able to put a spark in one’s day whether they are escaping in the middle of their work day, relaxing while on vacation, or receiving treatment to heal oneself.

I am truly inspired by individuals that are amazing in many ways and overcome obstacles that are so great that it is difficult to wrap your mind around. A couple of my favorite authors Ishmael Beah who wrote, “A Long Way Gone,” and Immaculee Ilibagiza who wrote, “Left to Tell,” are very inspirational due to their amazing faith and positive outlooks on life. Against all odds, they survived such atrocities and have accomplished what many would say was impossible.

Stephanie Fryxell
“Follow what you love and it will take you where you want to go." -Natalie Goldberg

My name is Stephanie Fryxell. I am from Outing, Minnesota, which is a tiny town in northern Minnesota. I finished high school there and came to San Diego for college and for a new experience. I will be receiving my bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego in December of 2008. I plan on continuing my education in the nursing field at San Diego State University sometime in the following year.

After working for the Hotel Del Coronado for three years in the recreation department, I decided I wanted to try something new. I wanted a more upscale position and downtown seemed like a great place. I chose the service industry because I am a people person and love helping people. I love assisting people in getting a rewarding experience, which is why the service industry is right for me.

In my free time, I usually like to spend time at the park with my bunny, Dudley, and a good book. I also enjoy going to the beach and spending time with loved ones. My greatest aspiration is to travel the world and see as many places as possible.
